Each student is expected to follow these expectations in order to help build a successful classroom community. If a student does not follow these expectations they will be asked to monitor their own behavior on a clip chart. Clips can be moved up and down throughout the day and are recorded on a weekly behavior chart at the end of each school day. These behavior charts will be sent home each day indicating how your child behaved and will require a parent signature.
Curriculum
The following indicates the curriculum we will be implementing during our second grade instruction:
Reading: Wonders Program - McGraw Hill
Math: Go Math! - Houghton Mifflin
Writing: Being a Writer and Wonders
Science: A-Z Science
Social Studies: Time for Kids and integration from Wonders
Lunch and Snack
Your child is welcome to bring a small healthy snack to eat during mid-morning. A few healthy snack options include fruit, granola bar, or goldfish. Our lunch time is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Your child may bring a lunch or choose to buy a school lunch for $3.00
Arrival and Dismissal
The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. every morning. Students will be allowed to enter the classroom between 8:15 and 8:30. Students are to go directly to the classroom upon arrival at the building. It is very important that student get to school on time. When students arrive at school they will be have the opportunity to complete AR tests, incomplete work, or their morning journal.
Dismissal will be at 3:15 p.m.

If you have any questions regarding homework, supplies, or events happening in our classroom please feel free to contact me at anytime. It is important that parents and teachers establish a strong, collaborative relationship to ensure each child's success.
